Some of the most notable attractions include the Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center, the natural inlet of Wetherfield Cove, and of course the 1870s style Vintage Baseball Game.Wethersfield was founded in 1634 by a group of Puritans from Massachusetts led by John Oldham and Nathaniel Foote. It is the second oldest town in all of Connecticut, and locals will tell you that their town is represented by one of the three grapevines on the state flag. The Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department, which was chartered in 1803, was the first official fire department in Connecticut and remains the oldest fire department in the US in continuous existence.
Wethersfield has a moderate Northeast climate with temperatures ranging from the middle 80s in the summer to the high 20s in the winter. The hottest month is August, and the coldest month is January.
